KUWAIT: Two out of five people died when their boat sank in Kuwaiti waters. Marine rescuers went on a mission in search the victims after the citizen was reported missing. The rescue team found the three Asian men first, rescued two of them, but the third man died. The citizen’s body was later spotted at the bottom of the sea and his body was handed to the coroner.

Officer drowns A police Lieutenant Colonel drowned in a hotel’s swimming pool Monday. His body was recovered by the coroner and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances behind his death.

Ministry employee assaulted A woman waited three days before filing a complaint at Ahmadi police station against a citizen who allegedly attacked her in her home. The woman who works for the Interior Ministry said she was beaten and raped by a person, and gave police his details. When police attempted to call the man, his phone was switched off, so investigations went underway in search for him.

Insult A policeman filed a complaint against a woman for insulting him after he told her to sit in the waiting room at the investigator’s orders. A case was filed.

Drunk Policemen arrested three juveniles and a woman who were found heavily intoxicated following a chase that started when they escaped from a checkpoint in Maidan Hawally. Police went in pursuit of the suspects all the way to Salmi Road until they managed to force them to pull over. The suspects were charged with escaping from police, endangering other people’s lives and drunkenness. —Al-Rai
