KUWAIT: A bomb with a timer was thrown by an unknown person in Farwaniya yesterday, said a security source. He noted that the bomb was later discovered to be a smoke bomb and did not have any explosives. Explosives department officers dealt with the bomb.
Severely burned A horrific car accident took place between a sports-utility-vehicle (SUV) and truck that was parked on the side of the road on King Fahad Road, killing the SUV driver. The victim’s body was burned beyond recognition.
Four-member gang nabbed Capital police arrested four thieves who are used to stealing from homes. A citizen reported that her father’s house was broken into and said that two air conditioners and a refrigerator were stolen. Investigations led to a half lorry and a pick-up truck, where the four thieves, a Kuwaiti citizen, a bedoon (stateless) and two Bangladeshis were arrested. The suspects and the stolen material were sent to Surra police station.
Marijuana smuggling An Asian man was caught with possession of one kilogram of marijuana he was trying to smuggle into Kuwait, airport customs supervisor Suleiman Al-Fahad said. He was taken to the proper authorities for further action.
Drug arrest A citizen was sent to Drugs Control General Department (DCGD) by Director of Hawally Security Major General Shihab Al-Shimmari for using drugs. A security source said police noticed a car on the side of the road with a person inside. Policemen went to see if he needed help, but was found to be in an abnormal condition. The man then attempted to escape on foot, but was caught and drugs were found on him.
Harassment A harassment of a woman revealed the harasser is a drugs user and may be involved in robberies. The woman called police and told them a man was harassing her at Rumaithiya coop parking lot. A patrol went there and caught him with drugs, five mobile phones, a wireless router and a night stick flashlight.
Bootlegger arrested Farwaniya police arrested an Asian man with possession of 37 liquor bottles in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh yesterday. The man was sent to the proper authorities to face charges.
