KUWAIT: A security source said all land and sea locations are monitored round the clock, adding that cases of suspicion about belonging to or sympathizing with terrorist organizations are being referred daily to state security and detectives, at an average of five to 10 cases a day. The source said the interior ministry, in cooperation with many government departments such as the defense ministry, customs, aviation and ports authority, seeks to find any security loophole on the Kuwaiti borders, while any security shortcoming is dealt with instantly and the persons responsible are held to account.
The source said undercover teams have been formed by the interior ministry to spot loopholes and prepare confidential reports about them. He said that camps, animal pens, farms and even areas many people frequent such as auctions are monitored by the interior ministry. The source said the interior ministry monitors any attempt to recruit youth to terrorist organizations, or communications between terrorist groups and their sleeper cells here in Kuwait. He said security reports are filed every six hours to monitor any suspect who threatens state security. – Al-Qabas
