President Trump welcomes meeting with Amir at ‘appropriate time’

NEW YORK: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Thursday received a telephone call from US President Donald Trump. During the call, Trump reassured about His Highness the Amir’s health. His Highness the Amir and President Trump reviewed the distinguished ties between the two countries in light of the close strategic partnership. President Trump welcomed meeting with His Highness the Amir, who is now staying in the US for medical tests, at an appropriate time for His Highness the Amir. Trump wished His Highness the Amir everlasting well-being and good health and Kuwait further progress and prosperity under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir.


Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir expressed his great appreciation to President Trump for reassuring about his health. His Highness the Amir lauded these sentiments which embody the depth of historical relations between the two countries and their nations. His Highness the Amir also renewed the call for President Trump to pay an official visit to Kuwait, wishing Trump good health and well-being, and the US and its nation further improvement and success. In addition, His Highness the Amir wished further development and growth to the bilateral ties of the two countries.


In the meantime, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Friday received a telephone call from King Abdullah II of Jordan during his stay in New York. King Abdullah made an enquiry into His Highness the Amir’s health, wishing him health and prosperity, and Kuwait, growth and development under His Highness the Amir’s wise leadership. In turn, His Highness the Amir expressed his gratitude over the warm sentiments, which he said reflect the depth of closely-knit relations between both countries. – KUNA
