KUWAIT: Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received yesterday the visiting US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the strong strategic relations between Kuwait and the US, and latest regional and international developments. The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister’s Office Ambassador Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Deputy Foreign Minister’s Office Ambassador Ayham Al-Omar, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Americas Reem Al-Khaled and several other senior officials of the Foreign Ministry.
Meanwhile, First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received Hook, who was accompanied by US Ambassador to Kuwait Lawrence Silverman. The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest and the strong bilateral relations that the two countries enjoy, the Defense Ministry’s Moral Guidance Department said in a statement. In other news, Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad met at Seif Palace yesterday with Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Jenan Boushehri, and the two sides discussed issues of mutual concern. Officials from the Supreme Council for Planning and Development and Kuwait Municipality attended the meeting. – KUNA
