KUWAIT: Kuwait earmarked millions of dollars’ worth of aid for the needy at the local and external levels in 2020. The following are some of the recorded relief assistances provided by Kuwait to those in need locally and abroad in the passing year.
Jan 22: Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) delivered aid to the floods and heavy rain-devastated Djibouti.
Feb 20: Kuwait relief aid society signed a $1.33 million agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to aid refugees in Yemen and Iraq.
May 5: The Kuwaiti Relief Society delivered $600,000 to the UN Human Settlement Program-the Gulf chapter.
May 22: Kuwait Red Crescent Society equipped 115 apartments for medical personnel at Jaber Al-Ahmad district.
July 26: KRCS distributed clothes for 5,000 families during Eid holidays.
Aug 4: KRCS launched a donation campaign for the Lebanese people following Beirut Port’s devastating explosion.
Aug 6: KRCS sent plane-load of humanitarian supplies and medical equipment for the Lebanese people.
Aug 19: Kuwait Zakat House donated medical equipment for kidney patients in Azerbaijan.
Sept 7: KRCS opened a field hospital in Hadhramawt, Yemen.
Sept 10: KRCS sent a convoy of six trucks loaded with food and medical supplies to Lebanon.
Dec 14: KRCS sent 40-tons worth of humanitarian assistance to Sudan to help the country cope with floods and heavy rain.

Feb 14: Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed a $5 million loan to fund a road project in Cameroon.
March 24: Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) provided a $30 million grant to support the Kuwaiti government efforts against the coronavirus.
Nov 15: KFAED signed with UNICEF a grant accord worth KD 1.2 million ($4 million) for efforts against the novel coronavirus at refugees’ sites in Syria. – KUNA
