Kuwait trap team being rewarded the gold medal

KUWAIT: Kuwait shooting continued its achievements in international arenas, as Kuwait’s National Trap team of shooters Abdelrahman Al-Faihan, Khalid Al-Mudhaf and Talal Al-Rashidi won the gold medal of the 52nd world championship being held in Changwon, South Korea with the participation of the best shooters in the world, being the first event that qualify shooters for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Shooter Abdelrahman Nasser Al-Faihan added yet another achievement for Kuwait sport by winning the bronze medal and gained the first qualification for Tokyo 2020 Olympics, as the gold medal went to Spain’s Alberto Fernandez while the silver went to Slovak Erik Varga.

As for the team’s competition, Kuwait’s team was first among 31 teams as their score was 360 hits, meanwhile second place went to USA and third place ended with Italy.

Slovak Erik Varga, Spanish Alberto Fernandez and Kuwaiti Abdulrahman Al-Faihan.

Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Secretary General, head of the participating delegation Obaid Munahi Al-Osaimi was highly pleased with the achievements Kuwait shooters made in the trap event as Kuwait flag was raised and the national anthem was played in Korea, despite the tough competition with world champions who are participating in this championship to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Al-Osaimi lauded the high technical standard of the trap team and the efforts team members made in order to make this achievement in the name of Kuwait.

Al-Osaimi expressed hope that such achievements can be repeated in the coming events of skeet and double trap.
Al-Osaimi dedicated the wins to HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Premier Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people.
Al-Osaimi also lauded the support honorary President of KSSC Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, Information Minister, State Minister for Youth Affairs Mohammad Nasser Al-Jabri and the Public Authority for Sports and its Director General Dr Humoud Fulaiteh.
