Amir accepts invitation for Arab summit in March
KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received yesterday at Bayan Palace head of administrative and financial affairs and the executive committee managing cultural centers at the Amiri Diwan Abudlaziz Ishaq as well as the team tasked with ‘The Return of the 1980s’ cultural performance.
The performance was held as part of cultural and artistic events at Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center. His Highness the Amir commended those responsible for this distinguished performance that covers some artistic topics which document this period, which is full of everlasting media, artistic and cultural events for the upcoming generations. His Highness the Amir wished them further success and progress.
His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also received the team tasked with the cultural performance. His Highness the Crown Prince commended their efforts and wished them further success and progress. Furthermore, Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah met with the team members and extolled their key role. The performance, which embodies an important period of Kuwait’s history and culture, also represents a big part of the Kuwait National Library, which includes everlasting artworks. His Highness the Premier also expressed his pride for efforts made by the Kuwaiti people to preserve heritage.
Earlier yesterday, His Highness the Amir received His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem. His Highness the Amir met with His Highness the Prime Minister, as well as Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah. Meanwhile, His Highness the Crown Prince received His Highness the Prime Minister, as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah.
In other news, His Highness the Amir accepted an invitation by Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi to take part in the Arab League Summit in Tunisia on March 31, 2019. In a statement to the press yesterday, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Tunisia Ali Al-Dhafeeri said he had delivered His Highness the Amir’s letter of acceptance to the head of Tunisia’s Presidential Diwan Minister Salma Rekik on January 6. Rekik hoped the summit will be an opportunity to strengthen the Kuwaiti-Tunisian ties and cooperation on all levels, he added. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah is eager to resolve all issues facing Arab states and boost joint Arab work, Dhafeeri noted. – KUNA
