KUWAIT: The total number of registered domestic helpers in Kuwait is estimated at 727,000, according to recent statistics released by the Public Authority for Manpower, based on Interior Ministry figures.

A department at the authority which handles the recruitment of domestic helpers said meanwhile that it turned down requests to issue licenses for 209 new domestic help offices because they failed to comply with rules and conditions.

There are 473 registered officers in Kuwait according to statistics, of which only 326 have the right to bring in domestic helpers. The department issued 63 new licenses from April 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019, while these offices brought in 1,556 domestic helpers during that time period. – Al-Jarida
