KUWAIT: Customs authorities at Kuwait International Airport confiscated a large quantity of narcotic pills hidden in fabric rulers. The total number of pills confiscated is nearly 250,000 and each ruler had 200 pills.

Drug smuggler arrested An Asian man attempted to smuggle marijuana which he hid in a plastic container he kept between his clothes. The man was arrested at the airport and said the drugs’ owner was waiting for him outside. A team from Drugs Control General Department (DCGD) went to the airport and arrested the second suspect. Both were sent to concerned authorities.

Deported Fourteen people were sent for deportation for driving without a license, said sources at the General Traffic Department. The department carried out several surprise campaigns in all governorates between August 16 to August 22 which also resulted in the detention of 17 persons for grave violations, issuance of 47,586 citations and impoundment of 1,826 cars.

Intersection closed The intersection of Airport Road with Abdelnasser Road will be closed today and tomorrow, the Traffic department, in cooperation with the Public Works Ministry, said in a statement. The department advised that motorists can use the alternative turns and the ports bridge.
