KUWAIT: Kuwait Football Association (KFA) Chairman Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad Al-Sabah wrote to football association in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as well as I raq and Yemen, inviting them to a meeting to confirm that the 23rd Gulf Cup of Nations will be held between December 22, 2015 and January 4, 2016, the KFA said in a statement. This step comes after the Cabinet and Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) confirmed that fields and sports facilities will be ready to host the tournament, the KFA said. A crisis had risen earlier when the KFA took a unilateral decision that 23rd Gulf Cup will be postponed for one year, angering sports officials because there was no coordination with PAYS; which had confirmed that Kuwait fields will be ready and Kuwait can host the event without the need for postponement.

Zour refinery Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) will sign contracts of Al-Zour refinery projects with the winning consortiums. KPC is now working on completing the required procedures to sign the contracts, which will take place when the consortiums finish all procedures and bank guarantees. Central Tenders Committee approved the awarding of first, second, third and fifth bundles of the project at a value of KD 3.48 billion, while the fourth bundle was awarded to Essar Projects Limited and Saipem consortium for KD 475 million.

Diesel and kerosene subsidies review The subsidies review committee will meet today to discuss proposals from Kuwait Petroleum Corporation on the prices of diesel and kerosene. The review committee will also discuss the paper on exporting products made of subsidized kerosene and the work of the company that was contracted to prepare a study on various types of subsidies in Kuwait.
