Two Kuwaiti imams suspended for criticizing government bodies

KUWAIT: Well-informed sources said that the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs had taken precautionary measures and suspended two Kuwaiti imams for violating mosque regulations and criticizing some government bodies.

The sources added that the two imams would be subjected to investigations by the ministry’s religious affairs committee.

The sources added that the ministry also intends forming a special team to track down any statements made by imams on various social media including describing others as non-believers and promoting sectarianism. — Al-Qabas
