KUWAIT: Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah yesterday conveyed his gratitude for the country’s leadership for their support of the youth, calling them the future of the nation.

Sheikh Salman, who is presiding over the fifth meeting of the Public Authority for Youth (PAY), said that support from the country’s leadership will bolster PAY’s vision and plans for the youth. He also announced that PAY’s new strategy will be unveiled on August 11, coinciding with ‘International Youth Day.’ Moreover, he noted that the meeting yielded the final draft of a vision that aims to cater to the needs of the youth, helping them to better contribute to the development and growth of the nation.

Meanwhile, PAY General Manager Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi noted that “the incessant support given to us by the country’s leadership has facilitated the works of PAY and the implementation of this new strategy.” Furthermore, Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs official Waleed Al-Ammar said that the new strategy aims to instill national values in youth, in addition to various virtues, as he underscored the need for youth to eschew all forms of violence and extremism.

In addition, PAY official Jassim Al-Rubayan noted that the new strategy will be carried out in conjunction with state institutions and government bodies, adding that the youth were the ones who forged this strategy by way of voicing their opinions in a number of workshops and seminars held over the years. The meeting, which was attended by officials from across the country’s government spectrum, highlighted the fact that support of the youth is needed to ensure a more prosperous and better tomorrow. – KUNA
