Niqab-wearing beggar arrested

KUWAIT: An Asian man was arrested for wearing a niqab and begging outside the woman’s section of a Salmiya mosque. Case papers indicate that a female citizen suspected the beggar sitting outside the mosque and called the police. The suspect tried to run away but was chased and apprehended.

Mugging
An Egyptian man reported that someone dressed in a dishdasha stopped him in Fahaheel, claimed to be a police detective, stole KD 7,450 he had just withdrawn from the bank, and threatened to harm him if he ever saw him at the police station. However, despite the threat, the man reported the theft, providing detectives with the suspect’s and his vehicle’s descriptions. A search is on for the fake detective.

Theft
A citizen reported that unidentified robbers stole eight cooking gas cylinders from his house in Fahd Al-Ahmad. A case was filed.

Phone stolen
An Asian driver was arrested for stealing a new smartphone that belonged to his sponsor’s daughter and selling it, said security sources, noting that detectives tracked down the phone to a mobile phone store in Riggae, where the salesman led the police to the thief who sold him the phone. – Translated from the Arabic press
