New visit visa laws in offing

Major General Talal Maarafi

KUWAIT: Director General of the Residency Affairs Department Maj Gen Talal Maarafi said proposed new visa bylaws include several amendments to increase the number of visitors to the country, such as issuing one-year multiple-entry visit visas to businessmen in order to encourage capital and economic movement in the country.

He told Al-Rai daily visit visas will be issued to students who want to study in Kuwait’s private universities, adding they will have the right to work in the private sector as graduates of local universities.

He said visas will be issued to expats seeking treatment at private hospitals, and the treatment period will remain open until the patient recovers.
