Paramedics, firemen and police arrived to the scene shortly after the accident was reported, and they worked immediately to free the victims who were trapped inside their wrecked vehicles. Illegal transactions
A government employee was arrested for carrying out illegal labor-related transactions in exchange for money, the Interior Ministry announced yesterday. The suspect used his authority as an employee at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor’s inspection department to access the labor department’s database for registered companies in Kuwait. He offered to lift suspension under code number 73, which prevents violating companies from renewing their workers’ visas or carrying out any other labor-related transactions before the violations are corrected, in exchange for KD 2,000 for each company. The suspect was identified and arrested after detectives verified these information, and he confessed his crimes. He was sent to the relevant authorities to face forgery and bribery charges.

Forgery
Meanwhile, the Land Border Security Department announced arresting an employee at the Nuwaiseeb border outlet who finalized a number of transactions in violation of the law in favor of a group of people. The officer used his job at the passports’ counter to register entry for three persons who haven’t entered Kuwait since the last time they left in 2010. The man confessed during investigations that as a favor for a relative, he agreed to access the system using his username and passport and register entry for the three bedoon (stateless) brothers on April 4, 2015. In the meantime, the Interior Ministry announced that an Egyptian truck driver was arrested while he was trying to enter through the Abdaly land border using a forged visa.

Bootlegger caught
Criminal Investigations Department officers arrested a man on charges of trading in alcoholic drinks, the Interior Ministry announced yesterday. The suspect, bedoon (stateless), was caught red handed with possession of 47 assorted liquor bottles prepared for sale. The arrest came following investigations that went underway after Mubarak Al-Kabeer detectives received information about an unemployed man’s activity in illegal alcohol trade. The suspect was taken to the proper authorities to face charges.
