KUWAIT: Director General of Public Authority for Sports Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Sabah receives winning shooters Feheid Al-Deehani and Abdullah Al-Tarqi. — KUNA

KUWAIT: Director General of the Public Authority for Sports (PAS) Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Thursday handed over awards of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the winning shooters Feheid Al-DeehanI and Abdullah Al-Tarqi.

PAS said in a statement that Sheikh Ahmad Mansour handed over the prizes, KD 50,000 to Deehani and KD 25,000 to Tarqi, in addition to a financial award from His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, for the pair’s unprecedented victories scored in Rio De Janeiro’s international tournament.

Sheikh Al-Mansour said he was elated with this distinctive accomplishment “that has heartened every-one and re-placed Kuwait On the international sports map.” Deehani, on Wednesday, won the gold medal in the double-trap competition, while his fellow citizen, Tarqi, grabbed the bronze medal in the skeet. — KUNA
