Firemen rescue six men from vehicle wreckage

KUWAIT: Six people were trapped inside a vehicle when it turned over in an accident along Airport Road, said security sources, noting that firemen rushed to the scene and had to cut open the wrecked car to free the injured and send them to hospital.

Subhan fire: Fire broke out in a restaurant in Subhan, said security sources. Firemen found that the fire started in the restaurant’s chimney. No casualties were reported.

Family rescued: A Kuwaiti family was rescued when their vehicle got swamped on Khwaisat’s muddy beach. Jabriya fire: A fire broke out in a first-floor Jabriya apartment, said security sources. The building was evacuated and the fire was controlled without any casualties.

Wanted Arabs arrested: Kuwait Interpol officials arrested four wanted Arabs based on requests from their respective countries’ Interpol offices. Security sources said the suspects included a Saudi wanted for bribery, two Egyptians sentenced to life and another Egyptian sentenced to 15 years in prison for rape.

Caught with weapons: A citizen was arrested with unlicensed weapons, ammunition and drugs, said security sources. Expat arrested: A 54-year-old unemployed Iranian was arrested for stealing the contents of vehicles after closely watching owners who had withdrawn money from the bank.
