5th International Shooting Grand Prix kicks off

shootingKUWAIT: Chairman and board members of Kuwait Shooting Sport Club were honored to meet HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah at Bayan Palace yesterday. President of Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations Eng Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi expressed his pleasure during which he conveyed greetings from all members of Kuwait Shooting Community. He also thanked HH the Crown Prince for supporting the hosting of the latest Gulf championship under his patronage.

Al-Otaibi congratulated HH the Crown Prince on the occasion of national days and his 10 anniversary as Crown Prince. Meanwhile, HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Fifth International Shooting Grand Prix will begin today with the official opening at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, under the patronage of HH the Amir – and the presence of his representative Information Minister, State Minister for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al- Sabah.

The tournament will witness large participation as world and Olympic champions will be among the 350 shooters from more than 31 countries in the competition. Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee inspected the latest preparations. HH the Amir Grand Prix is poised to see strong competition. All participants are looking to win medals, in this event, which is as important as world competitions.

There will be prize money approved, in addition to the participation of world champions. Meanwhile, Secretary General of Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations Obaid Al-Osaimi welcomed all participating delegations, adding that the number of countries and participating shooters reflects the importance of this Grand Prix it. He said that HOC decided to double the prize money for those who hit or break world records – provided that they are in the top three places of the competitions. Al-Osaimi lauded the support of HH the Amir.
