Watches’ thief caught on tape

KUWAIT: Surveillance cameras recorded an expatriate stealing watches and hiding it by wearing four watches on his right arm and four on his left, while the salesman in-charge was praying. A security source said the incident happened after a salesman in a popular store in Fahaheel went to pray and left his goods unguarded because the area was full of people and his co-workers were around. Then, a man walked into the store, checked the watches before wearing some of them, but when he started to leave, the manager stopped him after seeing what happened on camera. Police arrived at the scene and arrested him.

Police insulted A policeman in Hawally accused a female expatriate of insulting him in protest for being issued a traffic ticket, said security sources. The policeman filed his complaint at Maidan Hawally police station

Assault Following a dispute between them, five Egyptian men beat a compatriot of theirs until he was badly bruised. The victim went to Nugra police station and filed a complaint against his assailants.

Drug users arrested A drug user failed to escape from policemen following fierce resistance and attempts to attack them, reported security sources adding, the man was also driving a stolen car. In a similar incident, a driver who was found to be under the influence of drugs was arrested in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh by a roaming police patrol, said security sources. The man was taken to Jleeb police station.

Stunt driver A reckless driver was recently arrested in Jahra when a police patrol spotted him stunt driving by a Jahra roundabout. The driver defended himself by saying that his brakes stopped working, but policemen did not believe his excuse.

Suicide An Asian maid recently took her own life by committing suicide at her sponsor’s house in Khaldiya, said security sources. A case was filed for investigations.

Husband steals wife’s jewelry A female citizen recently filed a complaint accusing her husband of stealing her KD 8,000 worth of jewelry, said security sources. The woman said that her husband, who is also a drug addict, broke her cupboard and stole the jewelry. A case was filed and the husband is being summoned. — Al-Rai
