To Hate Speech Advocates

“It is said that the time is not suitable to criticize the advocates of the speech of hatred... well, has that person who planned and carried out this terrorist act been reading comic and omen magazines? Violence and destruction is but the result of their words!” The aforementioned words came in a tweet posted by Mohammed Al-Ajmi (Abo Assam) who is almost always in prison over opinion cases. Those words really represent the facts following the massacre at Al-Sadiq Mosque.

Likewise, we should expect more terrorist crimes and shedding of innocent blood as long as such speech prevails among many of the followers of the majority’s religion and doctrine. Hate speech mainly depends on the fake assumption by those promoting it that they are better than others.

It is a rather narcissistic, selfish speech that makes people promoting it feel better in their ideas and religion and that they are accordingly entitled to enslave, expel and kill others. This makes this speech of hatred more like a Nazi and Fascist one.

Hate speech promoters would act just like Nazis did with other nations. Though those promoters do not possess the same science and technology the Nazis had, but thanks to generous people’s efforts, they can still do so by using explosive belts to blow away their innocent victims.

Fully disgusted, I heard about a famous academic professor talk about Safavid conspiracies (one conspiracy claims that Shiites are plotting to destroy Islam and to revive Persian imperial rule over the Middle East and eventually the world) and how some ‘Shiite cleric had infiltrated into and came to Kuwait swimming.’ This professor (who has scores of thousands of herd-like followers) justifies his criticism of Iranian policies by his ‘low’ speech while, in fact, he expresses the worst forms of snobbish hate to Shiites.

We have seen many forms of such speech with former and current lawmakers who are taking the lead in Kuwait’s political life. They are a clear manifestation of doctrinal polarization.

They have been putting their intoxicated ideas into the shallow minds of their misled, ignorant young followers who have zero levels of culture and human awareness and who would eventually end up doing the same crimes like that of last Friday.

The spread and multiplication of the Islamic State virus and its likes within the Arab and Islamic body can be explained by many, various and deep-rooted historic circumstances that we are not free to discuss in the aftermath of the Al-Sadiq Mosque massacre.

Today, we can only ask the promoters of hatred speech, be them academics, politicians, writers or even social media intruders to hush up for good, to stop boasting with their ‘sectarian’ muscles because the letters in the words that they use have turned into lethal arrows pointed to innocent people.
