The Frankenstein you created will come back to haunt you

saharMy name is Sahar Moussa and I'm not a terrorist. I was born a Muslim. I come from a family where my father is Shiite and my mom is Sunni, but we never (at home) knew the difference between the two sects. All we knew was that we are only Muslims. I learned from my father to respect human beings - no matter his or her religion/sect. He was a proud Arab Muslim, always bragging about great Muslim scientists, inventors, astronomers, mathematicians, philosophers and doctors who were hundreds of years ahead of their counterparts in Europe.

He used to talk about the importance of books they wrote on chemistry, physics, philosophy, medicine and astrology. He taught me about Abu Nasr Al-Farabi - one of the earliest Islamic intellectuals who was instrumental in transmitting the doctrines of Plato and Aristotle to the Muslim world, and Ibn Battuta, who was a Moroccan Muslim scholar and traveler who wrote one of the most famous travel books in history 'the Rihlah' and Ibn Rushd who has been hailed as one of the greatest thinkers and scientists.

My father used to tell me about the Islamic civilization called 'The Golden Age of Islam' and how it rises to many centers of culture and science. And he used to talk about the importance of living in harmony with other religions. He preaches respect peace and love. This is the Islam that I was raised on, and that is what Islam is all about - 'Peace, love and just'.

What Daesh is doing have nothing to do with Islam. It is actually against every teachings of the Holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). I don't want to call them ISIS as they refer themselves (which means 'Islamic State of Iraq, Syria and the Levant') because by allowing them to define themselves, it means we are giving them the right to be so. They are only a satanic group - consisting of thieves, outlaws, murderers, rapists. They kill and maim innocent people in the name of Islam and deserve to be punished. I refuse to call them Muslims. They are actually a disgrace on the religion itself, and they are distorting the religion in every form by committing these obnoxious crimes.

The deadly attack at the Shiite Imam Sadiq Mosque during the 'Salat Alzuhur' (noon prayers) is an eye opener. Daesh was created (by the world powers) in order to create divisions between the Sunnis and Shiites, because history shows how Muslim Arabs from 1400 years ago till this day are still arguing who have the right to 'Khilafa'. That is the Arab weakness the so-called world powers know where to strike - by using the policy of 'divide and rule'.

I cannot understand how Muslims (irrespective of their sects) could allow themselves to be manipulated by these powers. Last but not least, Kuwait must focus more on its weak security and take more precautions - putting bomb and explosive detectors in every mosques and shopping malls and public places - rather than focusing on how to deport expats. My condolences go to all the families of the martyrs. Is high time we stop supporting any terror group irrespective of their religious affiliations. We should learn the lesson from what happened with Taleban. This terror group was funded by some countries and the later turned against those countries that funded them. 'The Frankenstein you created will come back to haunt you.'
