Man hurt in ring road collision

 KUWAIT: A citizen was seriously injured when he got trapped inside his wrecked vehicle after a collision along the Fourth Ring Road, said security sources. Firemen had to cut the wreckage open to release the driver and send him to hospital.

Fires reported A fire broke out in a pile of rubbish outside a Fintas house, said security sources. Firemen from Mangaf and Qurain rushed to the scene and managed to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent houses. Meanwhile, another fire broke out at an Ahmadi house, said security sources. On rushing to the scene, the fire turned out to be in the kitchen.

The house was evacuated, ventilated and the fire was brought to a control without any casualties. Also, a fire broke out in a 12-storey building in Salmiya which had to be evacuated to fight the fire that started on the second floor. One of the tenants sustained smoke inhalation and had to receive immediate medical treatment. Another fire broke out on the second floor of a Hawalli building in Ibn Khaldoon street. The fire started in an engineering consultancy office when a kitchen boiler blew up causing a short circuit. No casualties were reported. Separately, rescue teams were recently dispatched to rescue some people who were trapped inside an elevator when it broke down in Mirqab.
