Cooking gas cylinder thieves in police net


The two suspects arrested for stealing cooking gas cylinders around Kuwait

KUWAIT: A citizen and a bedoon (stateless) were recently arrested in relation to multiple cooking gas cylinder robberies reported in different areas around Kuwait. Police have been monitoring the suspects for a while before arresting them, the Interior Ministry said in a statement, adding that the two had admitted to their crimes.

Fake dinars Meanwhile, a citizen and a stateless person were recently arrested with possession of fake Kuwaiti banknotes, said security sources. Case papers indicate that a police patrol noticed a vehicle being driven in a slalom course, which was hindering traffic flow. Stopping it and searching the driver, policemen found KD 280 in fake KD 20 bills. The suspect then led police to his accomplice’s house where they found the photocopying machine used in producing the KD 20 bills.

Drivers deported The Interior Ministry’s General Traffic Department recently announced that traffic inspection campaigns in various governorates from July 5 to 11 resulted in the deportation of seven expatriates for driving without a driver’s license, arrest of 57 people for traffic violations, impoundment of a vehicle wanted in relation to robbery and impoundment of 1,715 vehicles for severe traffic violations, as well as the impoundment of five motorcycles.

Fake printer inks confiscated Criminal investigators recently raided a store in downtown Kuwait City where fake printer inks were being manufactured and sold, said security sources, noting that the confiscated inks’ market value was around $30,000 (around KD 9,000). Detectives said that the store belonged to the main importer who distributes the fake inks to other retailers around Kuwait

Bootleggers arrested Farwaniya detectives recently arrested four expatriates with the possession of homemade liquor, said security sources. Case papers indicate t h a t a p a t ro l noticed a mini bus parked in an open yard in Jleeb with three Indians and a Bangladeshi inside. Searching the vehicle, detectives found bottles and plastic bags filled with liquor, in addition to some cash.

Citizen dead in suspected overdose The body of a 26-year-old citizen was referred to forensic medicine when his two brothers brought him to Adan hospital already dead, said security sources. The two said that their brother suddenly collapsed at their family house in Qosour and that they do not know the reason. Doctors, however, suspected drug overdose.

Drugs A citizen wielded a cleaver to policemen after authorities tried to arrest him and his friend for the possession of drugs. The suspect, who was also found to be wanted for a KD 26,000 financial claim, was also charged for resisting arrest and for attacking the officers.
