Beggar with half a million KD arrested

p3aKUWAIT: As part of the Ministry of Interior's measures to pursue, arrest and deport expat beggars, a stateless man was recently arrested for begging all over Ahmadi. After being tipped concerning the suspect's activity, detectives ambushed and caught him red-handed in Subahiya. Security sources said the beggar earlier claimed to have neither home nor any money, but during interrogation, the suspect admitted to collecting a fortune through begging and that he had KD 500,000 in his bank account.

Fatal accident
An Indian man was instantly killed when he was knocked over by a speeding vehicle in Jahra, said security sources, noting that the driver was apprehended and referred to relevant authorities. The victim's body was removed by forensics.

Military uniforms
During a raid at unlicensed markets in Jleeb Al-Shuyiukh, detectives recently arrested five Asians while offering military uniforms for sale, said security sources.

Reqqa fire
A fire broke out on the ground floor of a Reqqa house Friday night. Security sources said that firemen from Fahaheel and Mangaf rushed to the scene and managed to control the fire without reporting any casualties.

Inmates beaten
A citizen recently filed a complaint against the Central Prison administration noting that prison guards had brutally punished and beaten a number of prisoners including his son, who is doing time for drug-related accusations. The incident reportedly took place on June 19, 2015 after a brawl among the prisoners. According to the father, prison guards allegedly sought help from Special Forces and pushed the fighting prisoners into very small cells where they were brutally beaten in a rather torturous manner. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.

Son threatens family
A citizen recently called the police and reported that his 23-year-old son threatened him with a gun because of a financial dispute. Reporting to the scene, security forces found no guns though the father insisted on his testimony. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.

A female citizen reported that her purse containing KD 1,800 cash, her civil ID and ATM cards had been stolen by unknown robbers while inside a jeweler's store in Fahaheel.

A female citizen recently reported that her unmarried female housemaid was pregnant. An adultery case was filed, and investigations are ongoing.
