sp TACK organizes Super 7 Cricket Tournament

Winners : TITANS

KUWAIT: TACK kick started its 2012/2013 cricket season with the introduction of 7- A-Side One Day Festival tournament on Sept 14, 2012 with the participation of as many as 32 teams. What gave this tournament an added impetus was the involvement of top cricketers from all over Kuwait and an exciting concept that saw many close fought games. The “knock out” nature of the format meant that only the winners progressed to the next round and the losers had to head home.

The biggest upset of the day saw pre tournament favorites “Safety Plus Dashers” knocked out by the dangerous “Desert Scorpions” in the preliminary matches. On the other hand, “Titans” and “Aroma” qualified for the finals after playing some nerve wrecking league matches that saw Aroma qualify to the finals after their batsman Bilal managed to hit a six of the last ball to eventually see his team through to the finals whereas on the other hand “Titans” came through a stiff challenge from “Desert Scorpions” in the quarter finals and “NAPESCO” in the semi finals and qualified to the finals in the very last over. Thereafter, the final match between “Titans” and “Aroma” turned out to be an easy affair for the “Titans” as they were clinical enough in ensuring a comfortable and well deserved victory over Aroma with the major contribution coming from their star player “Farhan” who was also named Man of the Tournament.

The winners and runners up prizes were handed out by the “Chief Guest – Mahmoud Abdullah” who has been sponsoring the TACK tournaments for many years now and through his continuous support; TACK has seen a lot of success in its short history. Getting the tournament completed in one day with as many as 32 matches would not have been possible without the contributions from TACK Organizing committee who were instrumental in organizing and overseeing the successful completion of all matches
