COLOMBO: India defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets in the third one-day international in Colombo yesterday to gain a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Opener Gautam Gambhir scored an impressive 102 and Suresh Raina a brisk 65 not out as India achieved a 287-run target with two balls to spare in the day-night match. Paceman Lasith Malinga took two wickets for Sri Lanka. Kumar Sangakkara (73), Angelo Mathews (71 not out) and skipper Mahela Jayawardene (65) were the main scorers for Sri Lanka, while fast bowler Zaheer Khan bagged two wickets for India.
